[April 29 Update: I wrote most of this a couple months ago, and then got burned out on it, but with Hegseth back in the news for posting classified military plans on Signal, I've finished it up to give a look at what else we can expect from him in the next few years.]
This morning I read that Hegseth, during his confirmation hearings, refused to say he would abide by the Geneva Conventions. "America should fight by its own rules," he said, "and we should fight to win or not go in at all."
With Trump firing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other military leaders over the past few days, and Hegseth saying he wants to fire even the JAGS who oversee all branches of the military, I figured we should take a look at this guy and where he might take our nation.
Birth of a Fast Attack Vehicle
At first glance, Hegseth's birthchart looks pretty sensible: Gemini Sun, Sagittarius Ascendant, Moon in Pisces. A well-educated guy who likes to talk, which made him a success as a TV host, and yet is more sensitive and emotional than he lets on.
But that Sun is opposite his Ascendant and square his Mars and Saturn, showing lack of tolerance and lots of conflict. And his Moon is opposite Saturn and square Neptune, showing depression and abuse of alcohol.
But he's a soldier foremost, so let's check out his Mars. Mars rules the military, as well as ambition, anger, weapons, and warfare. True to his nature, Hegseth has three hard aspects.

Then he joined Fox News, got turned to Christian nationalism, and with this appointment he plans to push all that aggression on anyone he doesn't like.

Hegseth's alcoholism is well known, as when he was repeatedly seen drinking on the job at Fox News and had to be helped to his hotel on numerous occasions. And sure enough, Neptune, which rules drugs, is strongly in the mix.

Now let's see what he'll be going through these next few years and how it might affect the nation.

Nearly all of his challenging Saturn transits are this year and next.

A good example of what this transit might bring is when Hegseth, reporting on a Flag Day event on Fox News, threw an axe, completely missed the target, and hit a bystander. Just that alone made me think he was unqualified to even be a soldier, because he not only discharged a weapon he was unfamiliar with in a public space, but didn't check behind his target to make sure it was clear. It was all "Look at me being macho" and causing unnecessary harm.
With Hegseth as the Secretary of Defense, this transit could mean he'll either see his job in jeopardy and lash out strongly at those who are on his case, or launch a strike on another nation, regardless of the consequences, just to make others fear him.

So our nation's leadership will be greatly impaired for 2027 through 2029. And this transit, along with Hegseth's Uranus square Mars, show the middle of 2027 and on through 2028 will have the highest chance for war, and it'll be a war made on entirely false accusations.

After all that, it's a relief to see there's no sign in Hegseth's Pluto transits for abuse of power, but he's still got Pluto giving him a ton of energy and drive.

Well, there's some good things in their synastry, but mostly not so.Here's the three most important aspects between their charts, with the most troubling one first. But definitely expect Hegseth to be front and center in the next election, using his Fox News skills to push false narratives and seize more power for himself.

Hegseth is definitely driven, and the self-righteousness of his Christian nationalist ideology will bulldoze down not only all opposition, but all restraint and better judgment.
He's not as full-on chaotic or deluded as Trump, Vance, or Musk, either in his chart or transits, but that Uranus square Mars transit will be a serious challenge to him and will be the defining test in his career about just how reckless he becomes.
Unfortunately, his insecurity is going to make him push to make a mark, and likely at the expense of innocent civilians and the lives of those under his command.

When the news broke last month about Hegseth broadcasting top secret military plans over Signal, he first yelled at reporters and then denied everything. This ties right in with how he's wired, and it shows again just how accurate birthcharts are.

As for forecasting events, though, one can only go with the few clues we have. For instance, in this report I wrote that Hegseth will be depressed for two years, lash out with a military operation in the second half of 2027, and then likely be the next VP. It didn't make sense that he'd give up one of the highest military positions to be VP, but that's what his transits seemed to show.
Hegseth is very unlikely to suffer any repercussions from his breach of military protocol. But if he were removed from his position, then his transits would point to a story that makes more sense: depressed for two years at being let go, lashing out at his opponents in the second half of 2027 to gain the VP nomination, and finally gaining that office.
It's the same emotional arc, but with very different events. And that's why astrological forecasting is always trying to unwrap a mystery, because while one can often see the overall outcome, one never knows the exact form these events will take.
